Schweiz extrem Jura

Dear Climbers This latest “Extreme” Guidebook from Filidor completes the “Extreme” series available from Filidor Publishing. Next to “Extreme WEST”, “Extreme SUD” (South), and “Extreme OST” (East), the series is complimented with this edition which covers Switzerland’s northern climbing areas well. Jura has an abundance of climbing routes and crags. Unfortunately, not every crag is compact and has the best rock, and sadly, some of the routes are greasy from years of high traffic. Within these pages, however, you will find a refined narrowed down selection of what is best in the Jura, the so called “cream of the crop”. You will find awesome rock, cool crags to hangout, and a massive number of hard routes. Many of the areas are also easily accessible using public transportation. Infinite thanks go to the generous support and cooperation of the many who made this Guidebook possible like the route developers, retrofitters, and interest groups involved in the Jura. A very special thankyou is extended to Julien Zambetti and Chris Frick. Without their “extremely”generous support and help, “Extreme Jura” would have a lot of holes in the data with many question marks! Very helpful route information was also provided by Mirko Storm, Patrik Müller, Boris and Christophe Girardin, Jonas Schachtschneider, Max Mittmann, Jonas Gessler, Jonas Allemann, Zdenek Heizmann, Andy Winterleitner, Kevin Hemund and David Hohl. I can’t thank all of you enough. Thank you to Hans Grossen for his proofreading skills and Valerie and Yannick Bischoff as well as James and Franziska Garrett for translations. Now, I wish all of you readers a fun time going climbing and putting “Extreme Jura” to the test! Reichenbach, February 2017 Sandro von Känel
