Chestel (extrem)

Jura - Switzerland,

An imposing cliff band in the forest. In the middle upper part of the wall, the rock is extremely solid and compact. “Action Man” flows up and through the shield. Without a doubt this is the best line on the wall. Downside though, this route was first climbed by utilizing drilled holds, though it is actually climbable without them! Routes on the right side are short, but on great pocketed rock and require a good amount of Franken(jura) power! In recent years “Chestel” seems to have been forgotten and largely abandoned. Routes have collected dirt and the approaches are mossy. Don’t let this turn you off to the idea of a visit. With a little bit of cleaning, the routes might turn out to be little diamonds in the rough.
