Órama

Peloponneso, GR

__Órama__ is at the foot of Kokkinóvrachos. It is a massive wall starting from a comfortable platform, and it enjoys perfect views over the terracotta rooftops and the valley all the way down to the sea. __Climbing__ Routes are more or less similar: they start with an easy slab which gets progressively steeper and harder. There are plenty of holds and small horizontal shelves. Some climbs are as long as 40m. The rock is streaked with grey, orange, and brown, and it is solid and generally excellent. Routes are very well-protected. Most were equipped in 2015/16 by Claude and Yves Remy, Christophe Botfield, and Marcel Noverraz, with the help of Yannis and Iakovos Metaxotos. In autumn 2017, Aris Theodoropoulos and a team consisting of George Kopalides, Yannis Torelli, and Iakovos Metaxotos, were asked to make some functional improvements to the crag. The rock and paths were further cleaned, fixed ropes and via ferrata steps were added at certain necessary points, and route names were written at the base of the rock. __Gear__ A single 80m rope + 18 QDs. __Conditions__ Hot. Best for cold winter days or cloudy and cool days in spring and fall. __Shade (Exposure: S)__ Never. There’s sun all day long. __Kids__ Not too bad with carefully supervised kids.
