Dalkey Quarry

Ireland East,

Dalkey Quarry is one of the most popular trad climbing venues in the country but the bouldering isn’t great. Back in the day - pre indoor walls - it was ‘the’ place to train for routes, the full traverse of Ivy Wall being especially popular. Nearly all the problems at Ivy Wall are the starts of routes so jump off or solo to the top. There is a low traverse wall on the left near the entrance to the West Quarry with a few problems and a pumpy traverse. At the bottom of the steps leading to the top of the Upper Cliff is a nice slab problem "Jeremy’s Problem" 6A. Routes such as "Solitary Confinement", "Pilaster" and "Block Party" can be done as highballs.
