Imst and surroundings

Next to Innsbruck, Imst is the second climbing capital of Tyrol. Much has been contributed to the sport of climbing here. Besides a very attractive gym, there are many crags to be found nearby. The crags of the area feature a special type of limestone, which sometimes is of the best quality and other times less compact. Whoever prefers the climbing on granite will find some walls in the neighboring Pitztal: There are two crags offering crack climbing at its finest.
