Tsipouro / Cemetery Gates

Peloponnese, GR

__Tsipouro__ is an impressive new sector just above the rooftops of Leonidio. The first route was equipped here in 2013 by the Remy Brothers, but no other drilling had taken place until 2019. __Climbing__ Mostly on very long endurance routes up to 45m. Some routes are on overhanging terrain with tufa pipes, others on more vertical rock full of pockets and crimps. Some rock is sharp and rough in places, but it will improve with traffic. Most of the 32 routes are graded 7a+ to 8a+, but there are easier warm-ups, too. __Gear__ A single 80m rope (100m for route 18) + 20–25 QDs. __Conditions__ Hot. Good for climbing in winter, or on cloudy days in spring and fall. __Shade (Exposure: S, E)__ At the south-facing main crag, never. At east-facing Tsipouro Canyon, shade after 16:00. __Kids__ No.
