Sala

Peloponnese, GR

__Sala__ is a quiet orange/grey cliff northwest of Leonidio, opposite and slightly to the left of Twin Caves. It is a good choice for avoiding the more popular sectors in cooler afternoon temperatures. __Climbing__ Varied: Slabs, technical walls with nice pockets or crimps, bulges and roofs, small tufas. There are some 5c routes, but the remaining routes are from 6c to 7c+. __Gear__ A single 60m rope + 16 QDs for most routes. For the two extensions, an 80m rope + 20–28 QDs. __Conditions__ Perfect for hot (even very hot) afternoons, thanks to altitude/exposure, or sunny mornings in winter. Ideal season: September to June. Avoid on very windy days, though, it can be dangerous. __Shade (Exposure: E, SE)__ After 14:00. __Kids__ No.
