Montanejos Climbing Garden

__Montanejos Climbing Garden__ is a short roadside crag with good rock. It may be small, but it is still a welcome addition to Leonidio climbing, with mid-grade routes and flat, comfortable terrain around the cliffs (as long as your climbing party is small enough). __Climbing__ On compact grey and orange limestone, with the occasional tufa and vertical or slightly overhanging angle, and nearly 20 routes mainly graded 6b+–7a+. The equipper Ernesto Lopez was a guard at the Montanejos Refuge in Valencia for 20+ years. He bolted this sector during a 100-day-long stay in Leonidio in 2018, and when his Leonidian landlord heard about it, he was so grateful that he didn’t charge Ernesto any money during his final month! __Gear__ A single 60m rope + 8–16 QDs, depending on the route. __Conditions__ Hot. Ideal for winter days, or for cloudy days in the spring and fall. Also good on days with rain in the forecast, since you can run back to your car for shelter in zero time. __Shade (Exposure: S)__ Never. The sun shines all day. __Kids__ Good.
