Miti

Peloponnese, GR

__Miti__ is a small, pretty crag above the road from Athens as it turns into the valley of Leonidio. It is very close to the sea, allowing you to climb with the sound of waves in the background and the sea breeze on your skin. Locally, the area is called Miti tis Pelias. South and west of it is a fragrant world of gardens overflowing with vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers. __Climbing__ Mostly technical face climbing on a vertical red wall with the occasional red tufa and a smooth, slopery marble feel. Some of the routes have a roofy finale. There are 13 routes, mostly long (30–40m), graded around 6c–7c. Bolts are a bit spaced. __Gear__ A single 80m rope + 18 QDs. __Conditions__ Hot. Good for climbing in the sun on cold winter days, or on cloudy days in spring and fall. The cliffs dry quickly after rainfall. __Shade (Exposure: S)__ Shade until 11.00. __Kids__ No.
