Hospital

Peloponnese, GR

__Hospital__ is to the right of the multi-pitches on the massive Kokkinóvrachos, and within walking distance of Leonidio. Both the main cliff and its sub-sector, Red Rock, offer mostly easy and moderate single-pitch routes with friendly bolting. Further right, there are also some very good, fully bolted multi-pitches up to eight pitches. __Climbing__ Pitches are long at both the main cliff and Red Rock (35–40m). At Hospital Main, routes typically have easy starts that lead to technical grey slabs. At Red Rock, routes start from a 10m-high ledge, and there is a bolt at the base of each route. It is comfortable for the first routes on the left, but for the routes further right you have to follow a steel cable and bolts (10–15m from the ground). Climbing is on a very solid grey or brown vertical wall with big holds, cracks, ledges, and edges. There are nearly 50 routes and extensions, mainly 5a to 6a+. Most routes were equipped by the Remy Brothers, Christophe Simeon, and Marcel Noverraz in 2013, 2014, and 2020, with the help of Yiannis and Iakovos Metaxotos. __Gear__ A single 80m rope + 18 QDs. __Conditions__ Hot. Best for cloudy days in spring and autumn, and for sunny days in winter. __Shade (Exposure: S)__ Never. __Kids__ So-so. Not much space.
