Frydi

Peloponnese, GR

Frydi is a small, not-so-popular crag located along the road to Saint Nicholas Sintza Monastery. The place—cliff, orientation, and rock—all look great, but, sadly, the climbing is disappointing. The grey cliff on the far right features a few short routes on compact rock, and some routes were recently added on the red rock on the left side. __Climbing__ On the right side, eight routes on a steep, compact grey slab, with most grades between 6a–6c. These routes (bolted as part of the AOS Project in 2013) are awkward; the bolting is not so good, the climbing not so enjoyable. On the left, some mostly harder routes were bolted by Maciej Zapecki in 2019. With time and traffic perhaps their quality will improve. If you happen to climb these routes, feel free to share your feedback; it is always appreciated. __Gear__ A single 60m rope + 12 QDs. __Conditions__ Good for afternoon climbing in spring, autumn, and even summer. __Shade (Exposure: NE)__ After 13:00. __Kids__ No.
