Douvari
Peloponnese, GR
__Douvari__, an extension of sorts of sectors Órama and Rocspot, shares the same characteristics: Easy and mid-grade, well-protected single pitches, and a spectacular setting overlooking Leonidio, the valley, and the sea.
__Climbing__
On an encouragingly bolted grey and brown wall. This is likely to be the best sector for climbers in the 5th and low 6th grades, and as such, it is recommended for climbers that are new or just starting to lead those grades. Of the more than 40 routes, most are between 5a–6b, with an easier first pitch of 15–20m long. Then, an extension pitch, typically harder, adds another 10–15m of vertical or slightly overhanging climbing. The difficulty of most extensions hovers between 6a+ and 6c+. Douvari was equipped by the Remy Brothers and Christophe Simeon, with the assistance of Yiannis and Iakovos Metaxotos in 2014.
__Gear__
For the extensions, a single 80m rope + 18 QDs.
__Conditions__
Hot. Best for winter, or cloudy days in spring and fall.
__Shade (Exposure: S)__
Never.
__Kids__
So-so. A long walk-in, but some suitable areas nearby.
