Motel (Extrem)

Directly above the Motel and hidden in the forest is the best known sport climbing area of the region. The routes, typically short and with cruxy “one move wonders”, are popular with the bouldering crowd. The rock can be dirty and the wall angle is between vertical to wildly overhanging. Stick clipping is a show of bad form at The Motel. The start of many of these short routes is already part of the crux. For example, if you pre-clip the first two draws on the route “Diana Day”, you have already clipped half the route! The numerous boulder problems at the base of the wall are also worth mentioning. Routes are sheltered from the rain. Recommended Routes: “Tanz der Träumer”, Skandal, Herr Schüüch, “B. Bo(h)rer”, and “Itica”.
