Moor (Extrem)

Ostschweiz,

The rock quality on Moor is not comparable to anything on Schafberg. This impressive South Face has sharp limestone with many water worn pockets. Even the approach – from Schapboden it is a steep bushwhack - is significantly longer and more serious in nature. Adequate footwear and secure footing are mandatory. Much time intensive labor has gone into establishing these difficult routes at the upper end of the scale by a variety of different developers. On the left side of the wall is “Goldener Fallschirm“, to date the hardest route. Descent is best achieved by rappelling the route. In the event of an emergency, walking off via the normal route is also an option. After topping out on the route, continue to the summit. Then rappel 15m to the north and the trail (marked by red/white “Bergweg“ markers). This mountain trail leads back to Schafboden Alp. It can be tricky during icy springtime conditions.
