Lindauer Hütte (plaisir)

Ostschweiz,

The small crag on the eastern shore of Speicher Lake at Latschau is easily accessed and you can even push your baby stroller to the base. Campfire grills, picnic tables and benches make it an ideal Sunday afternoon city escape. The less than perfect fixed protection and rock quality are the only negatives (a few chossy sections on the left side of the wall). Luckily, the anchors can also be easily reached from above to set up top ropes. A two hour approach hike from the Speicher Lake gets you to the Lindauer Hut. Between 2004 and 2006, a multi-pitch crag very near the hut was developed. Thanks to the excellent protection, it is ideally suited for rope skill practice and training for longer routes. The entire crag was retrofitted in 2013 and in 2014 extended with the “Snoopy” sector. More routes are planned. Due to the altitude and shady exposure, climbing here is best in the summer.
