__Laqlouq__ is a sector in the district of Jbeil, located besides the ski slopes at an elevation of 1780 above sea level. It has mostly easy routes on slabby sharp rocks. __CLIMBING__ Vertical, slab and slightly overhanging rock. __GEAR__ 70 meters rope, 15 quickdraws, long quickdraws. __CONDITIONS__ Sunny sector at around 1700 meters above sea level, good for spring, summer and autumn climbing. __LAQLOUQ HISTORY__ Laqlouq crag has been a part of the first sports climbing development phases in Lebanon, back in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s with the endeavor of the French army. It is located nearby the ski slopes of Laqlouq; hence it could be accessed for climbing on ski during a sunny day. It was developed as a training ground for the Lebanese army mountain regimen similar to its neighboring crag Chatine. Over the years many developers have added routes to the Mat’qoube sector, and it still offers more potential for further development. Currently, it is a destination for beginners since it is a family friendly cliff with easy grades and only 1 intermediate route.
