Rocca Rossa di Nava
Liguria, IT
Climbers coming to Val Tanaro longed to try their hands at Rocca Rossa di Nava, but since this red and white limestone wall presents great difficulties, no projects were attempted here until the first years of this century.
Paolo Ramò, Lorenzo Cavanna and Marco Clemenzi set up routes here and defined the strategy for the area: monopitches set up from top to bottom and multipitches set up from the bottom up. The result is a series of beautiful logical routes, on tufas and edges, hard on the fingers.Access is long and complex, but the beauty of this climbing area is well worth the effort, during the summer it's possible to climb here in the shades. Important: it is advisable to bring a 70-metre rope.
