La Cascata

Liguria, IT

This was the first sector to be explored in the valley Vero. It is the one that sparked the interest in this valley and being the work of Fulvio Balbi it couldn’t have been any other than the most hidden and distant sector. His choice was, however also influenced by the fact that it was still a semi clandestine period. One wasn’t sure if climbing access would be granted or if the place would rather be left to the deer and the birds of prey. Luckily things went as they went and today the coexistence of climbers and protected species has become reality. The sector Cascata lies on the most attractive stretch of the footpath “Terre Alte”. It is a slab, which is at first low angled and then becomes more vertical. It is perfect grey rock of about 70 metres height. The difficulty is low to medium and the style is technical never powerful. It is an ideal sector for those who have just started or for those who prefer to use the feet more rather than climb with arms only.
