Rocca di Corno

Liguria, IT

This was the first wall approached by climbers in the Finale Ligure area in 1968 and, if you look at it, it’s easy to understand why. It looks like a grey rocky castle, the rock quality is excellent and the whole structure is made of pillars and cracks, where the first routes were opened. In the 80s these walls, with their pockets and holes between the pillars, were literally assaulted by climbers and in this period some of the best routes of the Finale area were opened. Rocca di Corno is ideal in winter, especially if the weather’s windy since it’s out of the wind. This also means that this climbing site can get quite crowded during weekends.
