Lambda

Kalymnos, GR

Lambda is a sublime Telendos crag. Far above the sea, with about 40 fantastic long routes and some monster pitches up to 50m on vertical or slightly overhanging rock, the concentration of first-class climbs at Lambda is very high. The rock quality is outstanding, and some routes here are contenders for the best in their grade. CLIMBING: Long routes! There are many 40- and 50-meter long pitches, but they are not so steep. Typically, the 1st half is on sharp grey rock, while the 2nd half is on orange rock with well-spaced pockets and big jugs. The rock has surprisingly good friction with positive holds, and it is heaven for routes from 6a–6c. Unless otherwise noted, all routes were equipped by Urs Odermatt & Markus Leippold in 2012.
