Irox
Kalymnos, GR
Irox is a popular crag with routes of diverse grades on a band of rock just five minutes from the water. The boat going directly to the cliff is a welcome change. After climbing, you can snorkel in the clear blue-green water below the cliffs, then end the day with a cold drink by the waterfront at Telendos village.
A popular sector with diverse grades and styles from low-angle climbs to massive overhangs.
__Busy__ 2/3
__Climbing__
Extremely varied, on everything from pleasant easy angles to massive overhangs. The easy routes can be sharp. Hard routes offer pumpier juggy climbing. Unless otherwise noted, all routes at Irox were bolted by Peter Keller and Urs Odermatt in 2007.
__Conditions__
Cool and shady. Good for spring, summer, and fall.
Not good on damp days with no wind.
__Shade (Exposure: NE)__
After 14:00
__Kids__
Generally good. Be careful when getting off the boat onto the rocks. Also, beware of goats walking above the cliffs, as they may dislodge stones.
