Secret Garden is hidden, yes. But secret? Hardly!
One of the most celebrated and major crags of Kalymnos, it is located near the remote north coast, with sweeping views of the water, Leros island, a set of smaller islets (Pitta, Kalolimnos, and Imia), and the west coast of Turkey in the background. Secret Garden is like the lovechild of sectors Odyssey and Ghost Kitchen: with stalactites growing on the slightly overhanging red face like wings and branches, more than 50 well-bolted routes, and shade that lasts all day, it doesn’t get much better than this. At day’s end, head down to the fjord of Palionisos (less than five minutes away on scooter) for food, drinks, and/or a swim in the most beautiful emerald green waters on the island.
Highly featured rock, stalactites, tufa mushrooms, and sit-down rests at one of the best crags for summer climbing.
Exceptional, with plenty of tufa jugs, single pipes, kneebars, and sit-down rests. Routes are well-bolted, so go for the onsight!
Very cool and shady. Ideal for climbing on hot days.
__Shade (Exposure: N)__
Starts around 10:00 or 11:00 and lasts all day.
_Right & Far Right_
Good, but make sure kids are never under the climbers. Best spots for kids are on the west side of the crag. Also, bring hats; the path is in the sun.
