Derryrush
Ireland West, IE
Hundreds of erratic boulders can be seen in the bog surrounding the tiny village of Derryrush (GR L 898 391). Sadly only a small proportion are of height. The rock is a very rough grey granite which will punish those with thin skin. The Chief is the main attraction in Derryrush, the rest of the bouldering is less impressive.
There is more bouldering to be discovered in the bogs between Derryrush and Barna, the only question is that of rock quality i.e. will it be too sharp?
