Blankenburg

This bouldering area is actually not new, but known for a long time. But it was, for whatever reason, never explored systematically. This was done by Jürgen Schmeißer in the last years, resulting in quite a number of high quality sandstone problems, particularly along the shady North side of the Großmutter. It also hosts one of the hardest problems in this book, the until now unrepeated Science Fiction at the Raumschiff block. The sandstone is softer as in Langenstein or Westerhausen, with a lot more finger pockets and honey comb structures. Therefore please wait until the conditions are really dry before cranking on the often very subtle structures.
