Celler Insel

The scenery dominates in this sector. Situated right in the bed of the Oker, this is one of the most beautiful areas in the valley floor. The blocks are rather polished by the currents of the Oker. Depending on the water level, the blocks are not always accessible, and often damp due to the proximity to the water. However, if the condition are acceptable, it is worth going there and climb particularly Kings corner, on of the real classics in the valley. Opened already in the early 80s by Götz Wiechmann, it is still a problem to by solved. And if you do so, imagine how it would feel climbing it in EB's! As the access time is close to zero, the Celler Insel is a good after-work option. And with the Quicksilver block the sector also offers a real gem waiting for the first ascend.
