Mimice

The crag consists of 3 sectors. Sectors 'Centrala' and 'Jadran film' are close to each other. Sector Laboratorij is a bit to the west, 5 min uphill walk from 'Centrala' sector. Centrala is for >8a climbers, and certainly the route 'Vulkan' is a five-star masterpiece. The sector 'Jadran film' got its name from Croatian cinematography. It consists of slab/vertical climbing with high-quality rock and excellent movements over a wide range of grades. Laboratorij got its name from the Laboratori sector in Margalef, although here the climbing is almost all on tufas (few pockets). Almost all routes are recommended, with overhanging climbing on tufas up to 12 meters so you can test your power-endurance. HISTORY When bouldering world champion Jernej Kruder came to find and bolt hard lines, he and his Slovenian friends (Klemen Kejžar, Martin Bergant, Bojan Hribernik) together with local climber, Ivan Kuvačić, started to bolt his project in Vrulja and other routes there. From his apartment he could see Mimice crag so the bolting of this crag started during rest days on his first trip. Centrala and Laboratori sectors were bolted first and then Vedran Puljiz, Branko Kragić and later Ivica Beović and Boris Čujić joined in and bolted the Jadran film sector. Kruder was mostly concentrating on his mega project on Vrulja but on some days, to change the routine, we continued bolting and climbing in Mimice. The crag soon became famous because of its easy access and wide range of grades. Excellent for families and sunny winter days.
