Without any doubt, this is the best crag in Dalmatia! And surprisingly it is located just a few kilometres from Split. It was originally found by local climber, Slaven Vručinić.
As most routes in Dalmatia are slabs and short overhanging routes, this crag made a significant impact on climbing in Dalmatia. Klobuk offers superb tufa climbing from 20 to 45 meters.
Some routes are powerful, while some are 45 meter endurance monsters, similar to Kalymnos or Chulilla. On this crag, you will find some of the best lines in Dalmatia.
The rock is of high quality, and there is still potential for making a lot more routes. The surroundings are beautiful, with the wilderness of Mosor mountain on the north side and a view over the sea and the island of Brač on the south side.
Klobuk faces southeast, so during summer it can be hot but climbing is still an option in the afternoon.
Note: To protect endangered birds, there are rules restricting climbing between February 1st and August 1st to minimize noise at the crag. During this period, only small groups are allowed at the crag. No particular routes are banned, but if you see evidence of nests on particular climbs, please do not climb them.
