While the neighboring Nassereith is optimal for those comfortable in the 6th and 7th French grade, Götterwandl is the ideal crag for all those seeking really difficult and overhanging routes. Fonax (8c+) as well as other 8b and 8c routes are examples of that. Due to the natural structure of the rock, many routes have artificial holds and it is hard to find a natural line. Nonetheless, it is a rewarding destination.
From the parking lot continue on the forest road going left. Follow the signs in the direction of „Alpeskopf“ and shortly after turn left onto a path leading through the forest to the crag.
From Innsbruck go on A12 and exit at Telfs West and continue in the direction of Fernpass. Follow the road through the town of Tarrenz until Nassereith. At the entry sign to Nassereith turn left shortly before a bridge and go through the village. Immediately after a supermarket, turn left again and follow a narrow road, which leads by the guesthouse „Rettenbacher“. At the first pullout next to the forest you will find room to park.
From Imst follow the road in the direction of Fernpass and Tarrenz until you reach Nassereith. From there, follow the directions above.
If you arrive from the northeast (Garmisch- Reutte- Füssen), go south over the Fernpass and continue in the direction of Imst until you get to Nassereith. From there, follow the directions as described above.
