Hangar

Liguria, IT

Hangar is a local versione of Grotta dell'Edera, it's a wonder climbers were able to find it, but if the climber is Gerry Fornaro, one of the "finaleros" who has a flair for discovering new climbing areas, everything is possible... even venturing in this maze, following a lead: a rocky spur spotted from the other side of the valley. This is not a crag for old men, as the name of one of the routes suggests; it's a sharp, overhanging wall where the bolters were able to fit in 4 extreme routes. Lorenzo Fornaro, Gerardo Fornaro's son, a young star of the Genoese climbing community is currently trying his strengths at those routes. Even if you do not feel up to facing these slopes I suggest you visit this crag, its fascination and beauty are well worth the trip.
