The Gumbi sector is the first in the valley, this red wall is clearly visible from the parking area and may very well be the most beautiful sector in Valle del Vero, with more than 40 routes for every climbing style. The most recent section is down to the left, the rock is not always perfect, but the routes on slabs and vertical walls are enjoyable nevertheless. The central section starts with a ledge and is definitely more rewarding, even though you need to have mastered the 7 grade to enjoy its slightly overhanging wall. The right section has more slabs and shorter routes on slabs and wonderful rock.
From the square follow the path “Sentiero delle Terre Alte” which starts behind the ticket office. Walk along this path for about 10 minutes until reaching a junction. The first routes of the left of the crag lie very close to the main path. Follow the junction on the left to reach the higher wall (signposted Gumbi-Belvedere).A ramp leads from to there to the more strenuous routes and the slabs on the right.
From Toirano drive towards the head of the valley along the SP1. Immediately after the village follow the junction on the right towards Boissano. Pass the bridge, continue left towards the cave and reach the parking lot of the cave after a couple of hundred metres.
