The Rockpool (Newcastle)
1 min / m.a.s.l. / East
There is a small overhanging wall beside the beach in Newcastle called The Rockpool. It’s a useful spot if you are rained out of the Mournes and slightly desperate to climb. The wall is 4m high and about 8m long and overhangs about 20° degrees.
There are a few obvious problems and traverses plus loads of potential for eliminates.
Non tidal. Can seep a small amount.

Drive south along the promenade, there is a carpark just past the old swimming pool. Walk around on the beach. There is a house above the wall so keep the Sharma style screams and grunts to a minimum.
