Luggala

Ireland East,

The massive mountain crag of Luggala has nearly 200, mostly multi-pitch routes, in a very picturesque setting above Lough Tay. In recent years it has been virtually ignored by the majority of climbers but it’s a crag with huge potential that is well worth a visit. The climbing is a little more subtle than in Glendalough, the holds are less positive and the route finding can be tricky as the routes tend to weave over and around obstacles rather then following very direct lines. A good selection of cams and double ropes are both pretty essential.
