Crash of the Titans

Peloponnese, GR

__Crash of the Titans__ is a small cave located further to the right of the mega-popular sector Twin Caves. Routes at Crash of the Titans are relatively short. In the middle of the cave is EX UTERO, a unique route which ends in a dark hole. The log book that used to be at the anchor in the hole is now on the ground. On either side of the cave are slightly longer mid-grade routes on mostly vertical or slightly overhanging rock. All in all, this is a mediocre sector with subpar views, despite its location high above Leonidio. (One perk, though, is the hammock fixed in a mini cave inside the main cave.) __Climbing__ Routes in the cave are interesting, albeit very short, with the exception of two or three hard extensions. That said, they unfold up impressive limestone formations like roofs, long tufa columns, and fins. However, the rock inside the cave is slippery, and it tends to be polished. Bolting is generally good. __Gear__ A single 60m rope and 20 QDs for long extensions. __Conditions__ Ideal for winter days or cloudy spring and autumn days. Protected from the north wind. The small cave also offers protection from rainfall. __Shade (Exposure: SW)__ Until 11:00. Routes on the right side and inside the cave are in the shade in early morning, but overall this is a warm crag. __Kids__ No. The footpath is steep and dangerous, often on scree, and it needs considerable caution on the way down, especially if wet.
