Rocce dell'Orera

Liguria, IT

You can’t fail to see this beautiful wall above Finalborgo on the Eastern side of the Monte Caprazoppa. This area was discovered in the 70s and in the same period many of the most evident routes were designed and bolted along the numerous corners and cracks of the wall (Via degli Urlatori, Diedri Obliqui, Lo Spigolo della Maddalena). Nevertheless Orera was fully explored only in 2000s....thanks to Fulvio Balbi and several friends and fellow climbers like Gino Prucca and Silvano Secondo. More recently he continued the work with Roberto Bolzan, who transformed this wall in one of the most beautiful easy sections of the Finale Ligure area, where you can climb in spring and summer too. Its success its due to the beauty and quality of the rock, but the expert art of the bolter - one of the most active in this area - has its merits too. This section is a must!
